RHOC: Rumble in the Jungle

This week on Real Housewives of O.C., the ladies took the highly anticipated trip to Costa Rica (which is not in Mexico, Alexis). Getting there turned out to be a bit of a journey as Vicki's trip planning skills seem to not be too great.* After a flight from California to Florida (to pick up Vicki), the 'Wives continued onto Costa Rica where a three hour van ride awaited them, only to find out from hotel reception that there is an airport a mere fifteen minutes from the resort. Eleven hours of travel would not hold them back, however, as they immediately grabbed some drinks and headed to dinner.

The next day the housewives went out on an adventure (zip lining) and then came back to the resort. Although we only got about five minutes of that night's dinner (the rest will air next week), it was a very eventful five minutes - especially if you were to be in Alexis Bellino's seat. From the moment they all sat down, it was like an intervention to let Alexis know just how much everyone dislikes her. The biggest beef (which was obvious  when the hesitant-to-get-involved-in-drama Heather Dubrow chimed in) was Alexis' tendency to talk about money, especially because there are widespread doubts in the legitimacy of the Bellinos' wealth. In typical Bravo TV fashion, the show came to an end just as the episode [seemingly] was about to get extra juicy. Bravo, Bravo...you've sucked me in for another week of Real Housewives.

ANW: Midwest Region Finals

Taking place in front of The Cotton Bowl in Dallas, the finals round got off to a slow start as the first five or six competitors succumbed to an early obstacle, leaving the door wide open for those remaining. Johnathan Morin was the first to complete the course. Although, he has literally no experience on many of the obstacle, you can't tell by watching him. His upper body strength makes up for his inexperience and all viewers were sure to be happy by his second triumph in as many tries on the course.

Stephen Volcko was another aspiring ninja with an impressive run. His bio would have made anyone a supporter and his blistering pace through the course only reinforces that fandom for the Volcko faithful.

Two of the other heavily hyped guys - Matthew Derouen and Andrew Karsen - annihilated the course and finished first and second, respectively. Derouen is a rookie with incredible athleticism, which helped him in achieving the fasted time by nearly fifty seconds.

RHOC: Alexis Bellino Stepping Up

Alexis Bellino (see: above left with hubby Jim) is in the middle of her third season on Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) and is beginning to really step it up entertainment-wise. Between her appearances on a local news station (see: below), her work with an acting coach and her downright idiocy, Alexis [Couture] is pure gold as far as reality television goes.

American Ninja Warrior!

After 2 seasons of watching the greatly underrated American Ninja Warrior on G4 (the first during a weekend marathon; the second live) @akaezzie and I were very surprised to find that ANW is now on NBC (with supplemental eps on G4 for the intensely devoted)! We are just one episode into the season so it's not too late to learn the competitors and discover your faves (see: Brent Steffensen, Kole Stevens). Will an American finally conquer Mount Midoriyama? Tune into ANW on G4 (Sundays) or NBC (Mondays) to find out...you know I'll be tuning in!

First Post

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a proud Reality Television junkie. This blog will serve as my outlet to talk about the MANY reality shows I watch - as nobody I know cares to share my commitment to watching as many shows across the number of various networks I am loyal to. From Chopped and Next Food Network Star to The Bachelor and American Ninja Warrior, I hope to keep my reader(s) up to date and the goings-on in the lives of so many different Reality Television "stars."
